Joe Ann Hutchinson

Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies….The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil…..She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life…..Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her… Joe Ann (Chandler) Hutchinson died peacefully at home on Saturday, December 17, 2022. She was 85 years old. Joe Ann was preceded in death by the love of her life, Merion Curtis (Hutch) Hutchinson to whom she was married 68 years. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Clytie Chandler, her siblings, Ruth Allmand and Billy Chandler. She was a lifelong resident of Central and drove a school bus here until her retirement. She leaves to cherish her memory; her children Steven Hutchinson (Betty Hampton), Bradley Hutchinson (Caroline), and Lea Ann Carollo (Marvin); her grandchildren, Jordan Mentzer (Anna), Stephanie Gravois (Matt), Adam Hutchinson (Tessi), and Evan Hutchinson (Erica); her great-grandchildren, Ella, Molly, and Jordan Curtis Mentzer; Peyton, Lorelei, and Savannah Gravois, Mia, Hayes, and Bree Martin, and Emery and Ezra Hutchinson. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Shaffer, a brother-in-law L.C. Allmand, and a sister-in-law, Alice Chandler, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Her pallbearers will be her grandsons listed above along with Matt Gravois, Kyle Mitchell and Casey Miller. We wish to express our gratitude to the earthly angels who ministered to our mom here on Earth, Alice St. Romain, Judy Jones, Crystle Aucoin, and Joyce Hebert. Your round-the-clock loving care and devotion to mom during this last year was remarkable – thank you! In lieu of flowers, our family requests memorial donations to Fellowship Baptist Church or your favorite charity. Funeral services for Ms. Joe Ann Hutchinson will be on Friday, December 23, 2022 at Fellowship Baptist Church 14512 Greenwell Springs Rd, Greenwell Springs, LA 70739. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM with a funeral service to take place at 11:00 AM. A burial service will follow at or around 1:00 PM at Green Oaks Cemetery – Baton Rouge.
