Joe Dan Lohman Sr.

Joe Dan Lohman Sr., 79, of Charlotte passed away on December 29, 2009 at Presbyterian Harris Hospice Unit. Joe was born January 19, 1930 to the late Alice Lohman in Mecklenburg County. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Allen. Joe was a member of Eastway Baptist Church. He was a former Deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the Army and also retired from the US Air Force after 21 years of service. He also retired from the US Post office after 21 years. Mr Lohman was a fifty year member of Eastgate Masonic Lodge 692 in Charlotte and member of Mizpah 36 Eastern Star Chapter. Mr. Lohman is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Beamer Lohman; son, Joe Lohman Jr. (Dawn); daughter, Debra Weaver (Scott); grandchildren, Crystal, David, and Christina. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 11AM at Eastway Baptist Church with Reverend Leland K. Stephens and Reverend Michael Owens officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
