Joe Howard McKee Sr.

Joe was born on September 9, 1941 to the late John McKee and Marie Goggins in Somerset, Kentucky. He was the oldest of 9 children of his dad and the youngest son of Marie Goggins.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, John McKee and Marie Goggins; a first wife, Marcelene Bradshaw McKee; a daughter, Kimberly McKee; a stepdaughter, LaShara McElroy; a grandson, Joe H. McKee, III; a son, Joe H. McKee, Jr. and a brother, Parker Goggins.
Joe accepted Christ at a very young age and he later became a minister. Preaching and spreading the Gospel in jail and prison ministry for over 45 years with his brother in Christ, Doug Slayton.
Joe worked at General Electric for 35 years before he retired. He then worked for Kroger for 15 years before retiring again.
Joe is survived by his wife, Hazel McKee of 22 years; a daughter, Ra'Chelle Smith (Tim); 2 step daughters, Antoinette Neal and Felicia Higgs (Robert); a stepson, Demetrius Neal; five sisters, Johnette Mitchell of Oklahoma, Sue Sellers of Pennsylvania, Marilyn Adams and Shirley Coleman of Lexington and Elizabeth Fitch of California; three brothers, David and DeWayne McKee of Somerset and Mark McKee of Texas and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and coworkers.
Joe was a loving and caring person and he was always witnessing Christ to everyone he met. He suffered a long battle with health issues and God whispered into his ears on December 8, 2022, "come home my child and suffer no more."
Joe was well loved and he will be missed by many until we meet again. Rejoice with the Angels. I LOVE YOU!
