Joe Ortiz Mora, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, at University Hospital, surrounded by his loving wife, Stella. Born on November 1, 1937, in Denver, Colorado, Joe's journey through life was marked by hard work, love, and laughter.

For many years, Joe made a living as a brick mason, a profession he embraced with passion and pride. His commitment to his craft showcased his unwavering work ethic and attention to detail, allowing him to build not only structures but a lasting legacy of dedication. Joe took great pride in his work and reveled in the satisfaction of transforming bricks into beautiful homes, often saying it was his way of shaping the world around him.

Surrounded by family and friends, Joe's warm and kind nature shone brightly. He was a jokester at heart, always ready with a quick wit or a playful remark that could light up any room. Those who knew him understood that behind his playful exterior lay a loving man, devoted to his family and friends. His laughter was contagious, and his kindness left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.

Joe had many interests that enriched his life. He deeply enjoyed spending time with his beloved grandson, Joshua, creating memories that will forever be treasured by both. Football was another passion of his; Joe was an ardent supporter of the Denver Broncos, frequently attending games and sharing the excitement of each match with family and friends. His love for travel blossomed toward the end of his life, as new adventures awaited him, each one held in the heart of a man who cherished every moment of life.

Joe is survived by his wife, Stella, and his two children, Joseph Jr. and Dale, who will forever hold onto the lessons of hard work and love he imparted. His legacy continues through his grandson, Joshua, and a host of nieces and nephews who carry forward the values he exemplified.

He reunites with his deceased parents, Frederico and Andrea, as well as his six brothers and two sisters, whose spirits surely welcome him with open arms.

As we honor Joe Ortiz Mora’s life, we remember a man who built not just homes but also hearts, whose laughter will echo in the cherished memories left behind. A man who taught us the significance of kindness, family, and the joy found in simple pleasures. Joe will be dearly missed, but his spirit will forever be a guiding light in the lives of his loved ones.
