Joe Anthony Salazar, a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, and a friend to many, was born on October 31, 1969, in Falfurrias Texas. He passed away on September 24, 2024 in Riviera, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, love, and unforgettable memories.
Joe's professional life to Neely Water Well Services, was where he was known not only for his work but also for the kindness he extended to colleagues and clients alike. His greatest joy, however, came from the simple pleasures of life—working around the house, enjoying the great outdoors, and nurturing his animals. Joe had a profound appreciation for nature; he loved riding horses, fishing, hunting, and kayaking, yet it was the time spent with his family that he cherished most.
A man of many talents, Joe found great joy in music, particularly through playing his accordion. The sweet melodies became a soundtrack to family gatherings, where his laughter and love reverberated in the hearts of all who listened. His passion for music was matched only by his devotion to his family, especially to his beloved grandchildren. Nothing brought him more pride than his grandchildren, who were the bright lights of his life, and he took great pleasure in being an active part of their journeys.
It's evident that Joe was a pillar in the lives of those fortunate enough to know him with his loving and caring personality. He embodied kindness and generosity, traits that continued to resonate throughout the many lives he touched. Family was always at the forefront of Joe's world; each member held a special place in his heart, among those left to cherish his memory were his devoted wife of 37 years, Lucy Salazar, his daughters, Lissette Jo Salazar, Maxine Salazar (Tres) Covarrubias, Stacy Salazar (Daniel) Zuniga, and Michelle Salazar (Michael) Perez. He was a proud brother to Andres (Sharon) Salazar, Bobbie Marie McKnight, and Denise (Jessica) McKnight and was blessed to have his dear mother, Soila Gonzalez, by his side. His loving spirit will also be remembered by his grandchildren, Sophia Love Perez, Luna Zuniga, Max Anthony Covarrubias, Nicholas James Zuniga, Elijah Reef Zuniga, and Stella Reign Perez, as well as Miguel Perez, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Joe is preceded in death by his father, Andres Narciso Salazar Sr.; his great-grandfather, Felipe Alegria; his great-grandmother, Jacinta Alegria; and his grandparents, Raul Gonzalez and Maria Elena Gonzalez. Their memory will forever be entwined with his.
