March 12,1999 we met on campus as I visited the St. John's campus prior to attending the NCAA basketball regional in Milwaukee.I had planned taking some cadets to watch my Ole Miss team play Villanova that Friday night. As an Alum you told me even i did (unlikely) get petmission to make sure "We" myself and the Band Company cadets did NOT embarras the Academy. On national tv the cadets sat on the bench with the players. Ole Miss won 72-70! As you remember the cadets went to Hooters after the game..my conscience was clear-- "We" did not embarras anyone..the photos of the cadets were plastered on the barracks wall for the duration of the school year 1999. Two months later I watched you get your diploma. You did not embarras anyone either..as a fellow Alum, I am proud to have made your acquaintance. I know you had a meaningful Life. Richard D.
