Joseph Lee Schroeder was born in Stillwater, OK, on May 9, 1937, to Tony and Violet (Frick) Schroeder. He was welcomed to the family by his older brothers Pete and Mike. On his tenth birthday his gift was a baby sister, Betty. Joe was raised on the family farm southeast of Stillwater, a place he dearly loved.

He attended Oak Grove Country School for his grade school years. His Freshman and Sophomore years were spent at Ripley High School. Joe attended his Junior and Senior years at Stillwater High School where he graduated in 1955. After High School, Joe roughnecked on drilling rigs and helped his brother Pete build barns. Joe enlisted and proudly served in the National Guard.

Joe met Janet Grantham when she was attending Veterinarian School at OSU. After Janet graduated from vet school, they married in June 1962. After which He and Janet took over the dairy farm southeast of Gage from his in-laws. To this union five boys were born, Rex, Eddie, Tony, Fred, and Wayne.

In the 1970s oil boom, he went back to roughnecking and drilling on drilling rigs to supplement the dairy. He also worked many years at R.A. For and Son Feed Mill and at the Vici Co-op.

In his last several years, Joe had an absolute angel, Debbie Buyer, who took care of him and made his life easier. The family adores and loves her so much for taking such great care of Joe.

He loved his family and friends and will be deeply missed.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents Tony and Violet Schroeder, his boys' mother, Janet Schroeder, his daughter-in-law Rhonda Schroeder, his brother Pete and sister-in-law Pat Schroeder, his brother Mike Schroeder, and great-granddaughter Paisley Wear.
