A Mass of Christian Burial for Joe Andrew Shupak, 88, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church with Fr. Joby Thomas officiating. A reception will follow in the parish hall. Interment will then follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Lovelady, Texas.

Mr. Shupak was born on September 11, 1937, in Lovelady, Texas, to the late Thomas Leopold Shupak and Lillie Ann (Farek) Shupak, and died Thursday, October 2, 2025, in Lufkin.

Mr. Shupak had a strong Catholic faith. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and loved spending time with his family. Mr. Shupak was a graduate of Texas A&M University and worked as an accountant during his professional career. He enjoyed coaching and watching his children play sports. Mr. Shupak loved ranching and working the cattle on the family farm. He had a love for people and enjoyed talking with them.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Regina Shupak of Lufkin, and Jimmy and Ruth Shupak of Kingwood; daughter and son-in-law Susan and Tony Chrobak of Murphy, TX; grandchildren, Sam Shupak of Lufkin, Clay Shupak and wife Jennifer of Richmond, VA, Emily Shupak of Granby, CO, Tommy Shupak of Houston, Annie Shupak of Houston, Joseph Chrobak of Destin, FL., and Juliana Chrobak of Murphy, TX; Great-grandson, Theodore Holt Shupak of Richmond, VA; brothers, Tom Shupak and wife Evelyn of Houston, and George Shupak and wife Phyllis of Grand Junction, CO; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Shupak was preceded in death by his parents; and wife of 62 years, Margaret Hughes Shupak.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Chrobak, Sam Shupak, Clay Shupak, Tommy Shupak, and Joseph Chrobak.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 10, 2025, at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.
