Joe Stanislawczyk Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mountain View Funeral Home & Cemetery on Nov. 29, 2023.
On November 22, 2023, Joe Stanislawczyk passed away at home in Mesa, AZ with his family by his side.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Michael Stanislawczyk and Mary Poborski Stanislawczyk; sister Catherine and brother-in law Stanley Wyrwas; brother John and sister-in-law Josephine Stanislawczyk; sister Clara and brother-in-law Ray Garcia; brother Michael Stanislawczyk; sister-in-law Marge Stanislawczyk and brother-in-law John ("Tom") Piker, niece Karen Wyrwas Miller, and nephew Tim Popp.
A loving husband, Joe leaves behind his wife of 58 years Sandra (née Sedlmeyer), and his two children, Michael (Patricia) Stanislawczyk and Kara (Justin) Hayes. He cherished his two grandchildren Waylon and Marin Hayes. He is survived by his sister Bernice Popp, brother Stephen Stanislawczyk, and sister Irene Piker, and numerous nieces, nephews, and all of their children.
Born and raised in Conemaugh, PA, Joe graduated from Franklin High School and later enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. He was stationed in Hawaii after boot camp for two years. In 1958, he was honorably discharged and began work in the Bethlehem steel mill in Johnstown, PA. After a move to Cleveland Ohio, he met his wife Sandra whom he married in June, 1965. Three years later, the couple moved west to San Jose, California. Joe worked at FMC Corporation, Raytheon, and Technology Communication International. In San Jose for 32 years, Joe and Sandy built a beautiful life for themselves and their two children. The Stanislawczyk family grew up with in-laws Tom and Irene Piker with their children, Debbie (Erik) Piker Sanders, Melissa (Joe) Mocker, and Scott (Ruth) Piker. In 2001, Joe and Sandy retired to Mesa, Arizona.
Joe had a love of the outdoors, especially fishing for sturgeon on the San Francisco Bay - or whatever was biting on the San Luis Reservoir – among many other lakes in Northern California. He was a die hard sports-Dad and rarely missed any of his children's many sporting events over the years. Once he befriended you, Joe remained loyal and enjoyed connecting with his lifelong friends. He was known as the trustworthy handyman, building an addition to his California home, sheds, pergolas, roofs, and various other projects for his family and so many others that knew him. Under his watchful eye, he took great pride in many fruitful gardens in both California and Arizona year round. He also served as the family mechanic and shared his extensive knowledge with his son. He had a passion for his Polish heritage, researching the Stanislawczyk/Poborski family tree, and he made it his mission to learn a few catch phrases from his ancestral tongue.
He was and will forever be a loving husband, father, dziadziu (Jaju), brother/brother-in-law, uncle, friend and neighbor, who will be greatly missed.
Spoczywac w pokoju (rest in peace), dear Joe.
