Mr. Joe Louis Williams Sr. was born in Bexar County, San Antonio, Texas. On February 11, 1957, to the late Mr. Leroy Williams Sr. and Mrs. Lula Mae Skinner Williams. Joe was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sallie Mae Skinner and Augusta Skinner, Elijah Williams and Ruth Williams; by his children, DaShawn Smith and Davon "Monte" Smith; by his brothers, Leroy Williams Jr., Timothy Thomas; and his sister, Teresa Williams.

Joe confessed his Faith at the age of 15, with Hope United Presbyterian Church in Chicago. Joe attended Gage Park High School in Chicago, Illinois. Joe joined the United States Marine Corps. Joe entered into rest on February 6, 2026, at the age of 68 years, 11 months, 26 days.

"Joe Louis, "Mississippi-Our Brother," You were a character, never a dull moment. Growing up with you. You kept us laughing. We will certainly miss that smile of yours. It was the grin we had to worry about! Shenanigans soon followed. Joe was fiercely protective of his family. His weekly phone calls to us will be missed. "Just checking on y'all." Our social butterfly! Joe was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin to many. His kind spirit, warm smile, and genuine Heart touched many lives. His memory will live on in our hearts forever.

Joe will be remembered by his children: Fabian Watson Williams, Joe Louis (Lakesha) Williams Jr., Joe Louis Jenkins. Grandchildren: Jacob, Kentaea, Emma, Emery, Tamiya, Elijah Louis, and LaKendra. Brothers and Sisters: Clinton Williams, Joseph Williams, Marlon (Renee Green) Thomas, Greg (Kimberly) Warren, Tony (Raina) Williams, Edna Ruth (Terry) West, Layair Williams, Thelma Louise (Victor) Bell, Dorothy Mae Williams, Michelle (Rippert) Roberts Jr, Cassandra Williams, Lesa Williams. Life-long devoted companion Barbara Williams. Bonus children; Leon "Chester" (Laina) Twillie, Desiree (Jack) Dickerson, and the late Davon "Montae" Smith, Dashawn Smith. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
