Joel Darrel Fletcher, lovingly known as Darrel of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away on November 21, 2025. Darrel was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on March 30, 1962, and spent most of his life in Vero Beach. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1985-1993. He then began his civilian career working at Publix, where he met the love of his life, Stacey. Later spent 27 dedicated years with Parker Hannifin as a hose builder.

Darrel was a born-again Christian and maintained a strong and faithful relationship with Jesus Christ throughout his life. He grew up attending 20th Avenue Church of God and had been a member of Pathway Church since 2009.

Darrel was a quiet and gentle soul who spoke only when he felt it mattered. He treasured his family-they were the center of his world.

His passions included immersing himself in nature, running regularly and taking part in many 5Ks, following the sports he loved, and spending cherished time with his grandchildren. He was a devoted family man in every sense, deeply loved by those around him.

Darrel was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe Brown Fletcher, Mary Lee Fletcher, Rev. Alexander Austin, and Ola Mae Austin, as well as by his mother, Jamie Austin Fletcher.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Stacey Randall Fletcher; His children Jessica Hand (Sidney), Joe Fletcher (Lauren), Julia Fletcher (Cameron Morrison); He is also survived by his grandchildren-Brayden Barnum, Camryn Barnum, Grayson Morrison, Ava Hand, and one on the way. Darrel is further survived by his father, Joel Fletcher; his sisters, Tonya Swearingen and Cherise Fletcher; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles who are also grieving his loss.

We want to thank the staff from the VNA for their dedicated and tender care of Darrel during his last days.

Please consider making a donation to VNA Hospice House in Darrel's honor AT VNA Hospice Foundation, 920 37th Place, Suite 101, Vero Beach, FL 32960 or https://vnatc.org/waystogive/memorials-and-honorariums/
