Joel Floyd Obituary
August 11, 1948 – December 11, 2025
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and loyal friend, Joel William Floyd, passed away on December 11, 2025. He was born on August 11, 1948, to William Burnard and Dorothea Floyd.
Joel grew up in Kerman, CA, where he graduated from Kerman High School. He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Janet; his sons, Gregg (Amy) Floyd and Steve (Charlotte) Floyd; his step-sons, Jeff (Sandra) Bryant and Jay (Susan) Bryant; his step-daughter, Jill (Brian) Marshall; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for Joel will be held at the Westside Church of Christ (7300 Stockdale Hwy, Bakersfield, CA, 93309) on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 11 a.m.

Joel was a friend of mine for about 65 years. We had many, many adventures in High
School, College, and the family and work world. I hated to see him pass as he did.
Joel, Don Van Pelt, and I were a trio at one time in work and play and now its just me.
I pray that God will comfort Janet's heart in her loss.
