Joel Larsen Obituary

Joel "Pete" Larsen

June 19, 1944 - March 10, 2025

Joel "Pete" Larsen, 80, died March 10, 2025, at his home in Lebanon. He was born June 19, 1944, in Lebanon, Ore., The son of Col. Carl V. and Joella Ann (Mayer) Larsen.

Pete married Peggy Ann Conley in March of 1964. A month later he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. During his four year enlistment he served 13 months in Vietnam with the 12th Marines.

Pete was a hardworking man his entire life. He was a combat veteran, welder, carpenter, metal fabricator, truck driver, truck mechanic, millwright at Cascade Steel, gentleman rancher, admirer of old equipment, gourmet hunting/search and rescue cook, expert rifle shot, and teller of tales. Everybody that knew Pete would say he was a kind gentle soul who love to laugh and play practical jokes.

Pete lived all over the world as a youth to include Tsingtao, China, Yokohama, Japan, and Pearl Harbor, Hawaii to name a few places.

Pete is survived by his three children, Krysten Mitchell, Carla Rooney, and Joe Larsen who were by his side when he passed. Pete has also been blessed with many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

A family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Huston-Jost Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
