JOEL HASTINGS WISE, SR., 70, beloved husband of Faith Foster Wise, passed away Monday, August 11, 2025, in Aiken Regional Medical Centers with his loving family by his side.
Born in Fort Hood, TX, Joel was a son of the late David S., Jr. and Barbara Chapman Wise. He spent the majority of his life in Aiken where he worked as a welder. After a number of years at the Savannah River Site he ultimately retired from Bridgestone.
Joel had a great love for nature, taking every opportunity to hunt and fish. He was also passionate about baseball and softball, contributing to the community as a former Little League and travel ball coach.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Faith; his son, Joel H. Wise, Jr. (Nicole Herrmann), Summerville, SC; his daughter, Hope Danielle Wise (Benji Robinson), Evans, GA; five grandchildren, Kennedy Wise, Logan Robinson, Tristen Robinson, Presleigh Robinson and Sadie Robinson. In addition to his parents, Joel was preceded in death by his brother, David S. Wise III.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, August 14th from 6 to 8 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Friday afternoon, August 15th at 2 o’clock at the funeral home with The Rev. Bill Archer officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Logan Robinson, Tristen Robinson, Scott Green, Michael Hall, David Wise IV, Skyler Green, Colt Key and Mahkel Bush.
