Joella "Jo" June Knopp, 84 of Leon, WV, and West Point, Mississippi passed away August 31, 2025 at Hospice of North Mississippi Medical Center following an unexpected

illness.

She was born June 6, 1941 in Charleston, WV, daughter of the late Frank and Zelda Milam. She retired from John Amos Power Plant where she worked as a Storage Clerk. Known by her family as "Jo on the Go" she loved staying active. She had a joy for Deer Hunting and Fishing. In the past few years she bought a home with a lake in Mississippi so she could be near the water and enjoy her love of fishing.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandy (Merrel) Hopper; son Dennis (Susan) Knopp; sisters Loretta Joyce Watson and Carol De La Riva; grandchildren, Jessica Caswell, Elizabeth Barger, Jennifer Littlejohn, Marley Mitchem and Tasha Halfhill; she is also survived by six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, Weston.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ronny Knopp; brother, Alba "Butch" Milam; sisters Barbara Young and Susan McQuerry and one great-great grandchild, Kaiden.

Funeral Service will be 7 pm Saturday, September 6, 2025 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Friends may call from 5 to 7 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Graveside Service and Burial will be at 12:00 pm Sunday, September 7, 2025 in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Roane County, WV.
