Joey Carroll

Joey Carroll, 59, of Steubenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Sienna Hills in Adena, Ohio, under the compassionate care of the staff and with the assistance of Valley Hospice.
Joey was born on June 2, 1966, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the beloved son of Robert H. Carroll Jr. and Betty Carroll.
Joey was a resident of Shaffer Plaza in Steubenville, where he was deeply loved and wonderfully cared for everyday. He was an amazing person who especially loved going out for ice cream. Joey was a devoted fan of The Golden Girls and never missed an episode or a rerun, always laughing and finding joy in the show. He enjoyed attending the workshop and participating in the jobs at hand.
Most importantly, Joey loved sharing his mom's recipes, spending time with his housemates and staff, and cherishing his big stuffed animal tiger, which brought him comfort, peace of mind, and the courage to face difficult days.
Joey is survived by his housemates and staff at Shaffer Plaza, as well as his many caregivers and the friends he made throughout the years.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, West Virginia (304-527-1717).
Interment will be held privately at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania.
