Johan Lucas Cain Robinson, known to his friends and family as “Yogi”, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the age of 36. He was born in Lubbock, graduating from Coronado High School in 2007. He went on to attend South Plains College. Yogi married the love of his life, Amanda Rusk, in November of 2015 in Lubbock. He was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Yogi will be best remembered for his sense of humor and the way he loved people. He never met a stranger. He was a wonderful father and friend and was a helper to anyone in need.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Amanda and their daughter, Shannon of Lubbock; parents, John and Diane Robinson of Lubbock; siblings, Jonathon Robinson of Lubbock, John Robinson, Jr. of Idaho Falls, Princess Robinson of The Colony and Lillie Treas and husband Justin of Mabelville, Arkansas; grandmother, Simona Guerrero of Lubbock; and his in-laws, Tom and Kim Rusk of Lubbock. Yogi also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as his fur-babies four dogs and one cat.
Yogi was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Jesus Guerrero and his paternal grandparents, Paul and Nella Robinson.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 pm Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway, with the Holy Rosary being recited at 6:00 pm. Mass will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church with inurnment to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
