Johanna Beere Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by David J. Stianche Funeral Home on Jan. 10, 2026.
Johanna "Joan" Beere, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, in Allentown, PA, at the age of 79. Born on June 23, 1946, in the picturesque town of Annascaul County Kerry, Ireland, Joan was the cherished daughter of John Curran and Mary Ashe. Her life was a testament to the power of love, family, and faith.

Joan's journey led her to the United States in December 1962, where she planted roots in Bloomfield, NJ. It was there that she met the love of her life, Thomas Beere. Together, they shared a beautiful marriage of 57 years, creating a legacy of love and family. Joan's dedication to her family was unwavering, and she found joy in the simple pleasures of life shared with her beloved husband, their two sons, Thomas P. and his wife Basia of Hopatcong, NJ, and Robert and his wife Tina of Sparta, NJ. Her heart swelled with pride for her grandsons Tyler and Gavin of Sparta, NJ, who will carry her spirit and teachings with them always.

Joan's siblings held a special place in her life, and she is survived by her brothers Jimmy of England, Johnny and his wife Bridget of England, Tommy and his wife Marion of England, and her sister Eileen of Ireland. She also leaves behind a brother-in-law, Patrick Farrell of East Brunswick, NJ, and many nieces and nephews in the U.S., England, and Ireland. Her family was her world, and each member was touched by her selfless love and care. Joan was predeceased by her son James M., her sister Criss Farrell, and her brother Paddy, who she now joins in eternal peace.

Joan's life was deeply rooted in her Catholic faith, and she was a former member of St. Jude's Catholic Church in Hopatcong. Her faith guided her through life's challenges and was a source of comfort and inspiration to those around her.

Throughout her career, Joan was a dedicated employee of Gordo's Corporation and later served at Hopatcong Schools in Hopatcong, NJ, where she was known for her kindness and compassion before retiring. Joan's warmth and selflessness extended beyond her family to everyone she encountered.

Joan's presence was a gift to all who knew her. She was the embodiment of love, kindness, and selflessness, leaving a lasting impression on the hearts of many. Her memory will be cherished, and her spirit will live on through the countless lives she touched. She now rests in peace, having left the world a better place through her gentle soul and generous heart.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday January 16, 2026 at 12 noon in St. Jospeh Catholic Church Jim Thorpe with Father Ronald Minner officiating. Calling hour 11am until the time of Mass in church. Interment will take place in Stanhope Union Cemetery, Stanhope, NJ at a later date.
