John 'Butch' Stephen Blanch

Born February 22, 1939

Died December 31,2025

John Stephen Blanch of Ijamsville, Maryland passed peacefully to Heaven at home with his family surrounding him on December 31, 2025 at the age of 86. Born on February 22, 1939 in the Bronx, NY son to Frank and Betty Blanch.

He graduated from Wakefield High School in Arlington Virginia 1957 and entered the US Army with the 7th Howitzer Battalion, 11th Artillery. After an Honorable Discharge from the Army he entered and completed his apprenticeship as a Steamfitter in the UA Local 602 where he served for 67 years.

Butch was preceded in death by his devoted parents, sister Joan and brothers Andy, Frank and George. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Lucy Ann Marchetti Blanch, children Stephanie, Timothy and Matthew, his 9 grandchildren; Brittany, John, Seth, Joseph, Melissa, Henry, Sarah, Susanna and Stella along with 7 great-grandchildren.

He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed. John 'Butch" Blanch

Butch was always a light in the room. At family functions he was always a super friendly and loving man. He loved his kids and wife more than anything. Butch was very complimentary and shined brightly in a room. Bless you all and give Lucy our love.
