John Wesley Abraham, Jr., the eldest son of the late John Wesley Abraham, Sr. and Daisey Mae Abraham, was born April 7, 1947, in Richmond, Virginia. He departed this life on January 19, 2026.

John received his education in the Richmond public school system. He joined the Army in 1966, earning the rank of PFC. A Vietnam War veteran, John was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1969. After serving in the Army, John was employed by Barre-National, Incorporated, where he worked until he retired.

In the late 1960's, he met the late Gloria Louise Abraham; they were married in 1971. From this relationship, a son, Anthony Bernard Abraham, was born. In 1976, he met Joanne Easley, and from their relationship, a daughter, Nicole Monique Abraham, was born.

John was blessed by God with the gift of drawing and calligraphy. He had an insatiable appetite for technology and electronic devices. John could dismantle, assemble, and configure electronic devices effortlessly. He was an avid collector and connoisseur of movies, boasting a massive collection of DVDs, VHS, and cassette tapes spanning the entire genre of movie and musical entertainment.

Methodical and expertly informed, John was the only one to read every line of an instruction manual and expertly explain the full use of each piece of equipment he owned. John was very matter-of-fact, yet he possessed a witty humor with his short quips and zingers, like his favorite "I don't understand".

John was preceded in death by his sister, Patsy N. Abraham.

He leaves to cherish his memory: one son, Anthony B. Abraham; one daughter, Nicole M. Abraham; four grandchildren, Shereene A. Abraham, Anthony B. Abraham, Jr., Nicole Pryor, and Nekia Harvey (Dermain); seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ida Lavern Maple, Hanna Reid, and Dawn Brown (Robert); two brothers, Alvin Abraham (Patricia), and Anthony E. Abraham; and a host of other relatives and friends.
