John Olin Abramson

John Olin Abramson, passed away at home in Grand Junction, Colorado at age 72, from multiple arthritis and Parkinson's diseases. John was born and raised in Lakeview, graduating with the class of '71'. He was a proud Lakeview 'Honker', participating in many sports including football, wrestling and track and field.

Many generations of Abramsons lived and worked in agriculture in the valley. After college and a short stay in Alaska, John returned to Lakeview to work on the homeplace. His mother Mary E. Abramson died in 1979 and his father Erwin Abramson in 1991.

John married Kathryn Polete in 1982. They moved in 1986, with their first daughter, to Bend, Oregon, where John was a realtor-broker. In 1989, the family moved to Grand Junction, Colorado where his son and second daughter were born. John owned and managed an electrical sign company, manufacturing, installing and maintaining large electrical signs throughout western Colorado and eastern Utah. He retired in 2012 due to illness. John always stayed active, beekeeping, taking continuing education classes, exploring the outdoors, growing vegetables and canning sauces.

John is survived by his wife of 42-years, his daughter Kandice Abramson (Oregon), son Daniel Abramson and daughter-in-law Colynn Abramson and three granddaughters, Schylar, Jaedyn, and Isla (Grand Junction, Colorado) and his older sister Lynn McKee (Arizona). His youngest daughter Kimber died in 1992, and his older brother Charles Dougles passed away a few days after John.
