John Creed "JC" Absher, Jr., age 83, of Christiansburg, died on Sunday, January 4, 2026. He was born in Blacksburg, VA, on April 17, 1942, to the late John Creed and Virginia Price Absher. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Price Absher; brothers, Charles Dean Absher, Carl Absher; and sister, Virginia Lynn Barker.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Army National Guard. JC retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was an avid restorer of Studebaker automobiles. He was a member of the Belmont II Ruritan Club.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Angie and John Emery; son and daughter-in-law, John and Christine Absher; grandchildren, Ashley Moon (Chris), Coby Emery (Rachael), Logan Emery (Danielle), Kailey Absher, Avery Absher; great-grandchildren, Callie, Nico, Savannah; sisters and brother-in-law, Hope Machemehl, Bonnie and Bill Widner; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Angie Absher; sisters-in-law, Becky Absher, Diane Absher; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Neal Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at McCoy Funeral Home.
