Pawtucket – John E. Alessandro, 79, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Saturday, May 17, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Carolyn (Robidou) Alessandro for forty-eight loving years. Born in Central Falls, he was a son of the late Antonio and Gervaise (Delisle) Alessandro.
John was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam Era and went on to attend RISD and subsequently Roger Williams University. He enjoyed a career as a mechanical design engineer and worked diligently to provide and care for his beloved family.
He will be lovingly remembered as devout man of great faith and was a communicant to St. Teresa Church in Pawtucket. John enjoyed spending quality time with his family and dear friends. He loved to travel and made several pilgrimages to many shrines around the world, including St. Anne de Beaupre and St. Joseph's Oratory in Canada, Sacre Coeur and Notre Dame Churches in France, and visits to both Japan and England, with his beloved wife, Carolyn. John also enjoyed local drives with his family to destinations in New Hampshire and other places throughout New England.
He will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives he has touched over the past seventy-nine years.
Beside his beloved wife, John leaves two children, John J. Alessandro and Leann M. Cordeiro and her husband, Jason, all of Pawtucket; two grandchildren, Chloe "Spencer" E. Stellmach and Sadie R. Stellmach; a step-grandson, Jason O. Bacani-Cordeiro and a brother, Carl A. Alessandro of Providence.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 21st at 10 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Mt. St. Mary Cemetery. VISITATION will be held on Tuesday, May 20th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
