John Earl Allen, 78, of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025. A lifelong resident of Ringgold, John Earl retired from DuPont after twenty years of service, and later from Intech after another twenty. He also spent many years involved in the local dump truck industry. Well known throughout the community, he was a familiar face at Bailey's BBQ, where he never missed a breakfast, and in the evenings, friends could often find him at Bud's Sports Bar in Chattanooga, Tennessee. From the 1960s through the 1980s, John Earl pursued his passion for dirt track racing at Boyd's Speedway. He also had a deep love for his dogs and cats, especially his beloved dog, Harley. Above all, John Earl cherished time with his children and grandchildren, who brought him his greatest joy. He made sure to teach his family the definition of unconditional love and he will be missed beyond measure. He was preceded in death by his parents, Randolph Rose Allen and Mary Lillian Cleghorn Allen, along with many members of the Cleghorn family. John Earl is survived by his children: Brad Allen, and his children Presley and Landon, and grandchildren Sereniti, Raylen, and Hudson; John Paul Allen, and his children Olivia, Preston, and Lillian; and Ashlee Allen Turner, and her children Morgan Savannah and Peyton. He is also survived by special friends who lovingly cared for him in his later years: Amy Alexander, Judy Lockhart, Krystal Lemley, and Phyllis. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, in the Wallis – Stewart Chapel of Wilson Funeral Homes. Online guest book at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com. John you will missed very much. You were always part our family for over 40 years. Like having another Big Brother. You had a Beautiful Heart and soul. Cared about anyone you loved family, grand children and so my friends. Thank you for being part of the Lockhart and Morris family. You will not ever be forgotten. Always be in our hearts.
Love Always

My sincere condolences to the family. I was a teenage friend of John Earl and have fond memories of times together.
I moved from Ringgold in the early 60's and unfortunately lost touch.
May he rest in peace.
