John E. Ammerman, II, 81, died August 24, 2025 in the Kent Regency, Warwick. He was the husband of the late Helen (Hutnak) Ammerman, whom he married August 9, 1970. Born in Altoona, PA, he was the son of the late John E. Ammerman and the late Sarajane (Harnish) Ammerman Pengelly.

John was an Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He earned his Associate's Degree from the former RI Junior College. John worked for AT&T, and later ran his own IT consulting business. He enjoyed computing and sci-fi.

He leaves his daughter, Elizabeth Ammerman of Harrisville; his sister in laws, Judith (Gaulin) Ammerman of Cumberland and Arlene Hutnak of Milford, MA; and nieces and nephews, including Kimberly Tavares of Cumberland and Brian Ammerman of Smithfield. He was predeceased by his brothers, Charles and David Ammerman.

His funeral will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2025 with a service at 11 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Slatersville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the DAV - Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
