John T. Anderer, age 80, passed away at his home in Frankfort, Illinois on February 2, 2026, surrounded by the family he devoted his life to.
John was an avid fisherman who understood better than anyone that the true measure of a fisherman isn't the trophy on the wall, but the quiet patience required to wait for something meaningful, and the generosity to share the bounty once the net was full…and he shared quite a bounty with his family and friends. He was quick with a smile and even quicker to lend a helping hand - using his expertise as a 55-year member of the Plumber’s Union Local 130 to help any neighbor, friend, or family member.
John is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Suzanne Anderer (nee Libby); children: Amy Schneider, John Anderer Jr., Katie (Mike) Querio, Mark (Vanessa Nomura) Anderer; grandchildren: John Anderer III, Mason Querio, Brittany (Greg) Madonna, Sloane Anderer, Maeve Anderer, great grandchildren: Logan Madonna, Shane Madonna; siblings: Joseph (Julane) Anderer, Michael Anderer, Mary (Jim) Bryan, Thomas Anderer, Jeanmarie (Donald) Donahue, Kathy (John) Morrison, Patti (Brian) Dubel. And he was blessed to have many nieces and nephews. John is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Aileen Anderer; son-in-law, Rich Schneider; brother, Mark Anderer; sister-in-law, Judy Anderer; and best friend, Ed Moore.
Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 4PM until 8PM. Funeral service, Friday February 6, 2026, with prayers at the funeral home at 9:20 AM and then to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 19515 115th Avenue, Mokena IL 60448 at 10:00 AM for a mass of Christian Burial.
