Cornelius "Con" Twomey Age 87

September 15, 1938 - February 3, 2026

Con Twomey, 87, of Lemont, Illinois, native of Castleisland, Co. Kerry, Ireland, passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family after reciting the Holy Rosary and receiving a Final Blessing from Fr. Brian Ardagh.

Con was born on September 15, 1938, the oldest of nine children to the late Jeremiah "Jerry" & Margaret "Peíg" (nee Healy) Twomey of Tralee Road, Castleisland, County Kerry, Ireland.

Devoted husband of almost 55 years to Kathleen (nee Kinsella), loving father of Noreen (Donal) McDaid of Elmhurst, Eileen (Sean) Crean of Frankfort, Niall (Courtney) Twomey of Orland Park, Maire (Hugh) Doyle of Orland Park, and Sheila (Elizabeth) Twomey-Gansler of Medfield, Massachusetts.

Very proud Grandad of Sean (Catey) McDaid, Dan (Abby) McDaid, Ciara McDaid (Joe Rita), Kevin and Sarah McDaid, Shane, Colin and Declan Crean, Emmett, Niamh, Gavin and Molly Twomey, Norah Doyle, Khloe, Makayla and Hannah Twomey-Gansler, and Foster Grandad of Mia. Great-Grandad of Beau and Walker McDaid and Baby McDaid arriving July 2026.

Loving older brother to the late Denis (Mary) Twomey of Castleisland, Co. Kerry, Sr. Noreen Twomey, csjp, of Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, the late Jeremiah "Jerry" (Mary) Twomey of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, Tom (late Kitty) Twomey of Castleisland, Co. Kerry, Sean (Hannah) Twomey of Killorglin, Co. Kerry, David (Kathleen) Twomey of Lemont, Illinois, Margaret (Tom) O'Sullivan of Ballydesmond, Co. Cork, and Betty Twomey of Castleisland, Co. Kerry.

Cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews in Chicago, Ireland and Australia. Loving Godfather to Margaret Twomey-Dennehy of Chicago, Hugh Martin Reidy of Tralee, Co. Kerry and Shannon Ridgeway of Chicago. Fond cousin to many in Chicago and Ireland. Loyal friend to many.
