John Wesley Arey, 93 of Charlotte, NC passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025 with his family by his side.
Mr Arey was born in New London, North Carolina July, 17, 1931 to the late James F Arey and Maude Cruse Arey.
He was also preceded in death by wife, Bobbi Jean Fraley, brothers Buck, Melvin and Woodrow Arey and sister, Loretha Roberson.
Mr. Arey, served in the Army at Fort Jackson and was also a Master Mason at Derita Lodge #715. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed farming, hunting, and riding motorcycles.
The graveside committal with military honors will be on Saturday, April 26th at 12:00 pm, at Richfield Cemetery, 221 S. Cemetery Street, Richfield, NC 28137 and will be officiated by Reverend Don Burleyson.
Survivors include sons: Greg Arey (Sonya) of Harrisburg, NC and Tim Arey (Kelly) of Mint Hill, NC. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren Brantley, Bryson, Amanda, and Max. Also many nephews and nieces and longtime companion Erma Kellough.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg is serving the Arey family.
