John Armstrong Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Perry Funeral Home, Inc. on Nov. 28, 2023.
John Armstrong passed away suddenly on November 26th, 2023, at his home.
He was born to parents Sue and John Armstrong on November 2nd, 1975, in Amityville, New York. John graduated from Malverne High School. He worked in numerous managerial positions over the years from Woolworth in Lynbrook to executive/warehouse offices for Duane Reade. His last job was his most rewarding as warehouse manager at Cooper Electric. Duane Reade is where he met the love of his life, Maria. They were married in 2003 and settled in Malverne.
John is survived by his sons Robert Anthony and Daniel James, his wife Maria, his parents, Sue and John, as well as his sister, Heather Munns (Craig), his brother-in-law, Henry Taibo (Melanie), father-in-law, Antonio Taibo, and his aunts, uncles, and cousins who love and miss him dearly.
John was most known for his love of Christmas and created the most epic and amazing display of inflatables and lights at his home each year. Families from around town and afar visited his home annually and also appreciated John's genuine care for seeing everyone be part of his Christmas spirit. He especially loved Malverne's Tree Lighting Day, where many families would come by to see the display that was his pride and joy, and he was outside interacting with them all.
He loved his family most. He shared his love of reading with Robert and would often go with him to Barnes and Nobles. He also shared his love of sports with Daniel, especially baseball, often helping coach Daniel's Malverne Little League team
He was a dedicated husband and father. There is nothing he would not do for his boys. He enjoyed doing things with them mostly going to Disney World almost every year like he did when he was a child.
His legacy will be his Christmas display, but to his family and friends he will always be remembered as a caring person who was always there to lend a helping hand especially to his sons.
