Donald Brombacker

Donald Brombacker, age 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. He was born on April 25, 1939 to the late Norman and Madeline Brombacker in Brooklyn, NY. He was raised in Malverne, NY and later settled in Wallingford, CT.
He graduated from Malverne High School in 1957 and later went on to attend Fort Schuyler, Hofstra University (class of 1963), and University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine (class of 1972). Donald proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps Reserves in 1964. He established a dental practice in Middlefield, CT in 1974 where he cared for his patients for over 40 years.
Donald was a devoted fan of the New York Mets and the UCONN Huskies women's basketball team, so much so that he watched the games on TV and listened to the radio broadcasts simultaneously. He was an avid runner who completed many races from the New York City Marathon to local favorites such as the Irish Festival 5K, the Chilly Chili Run, and the Manchester Road Race.
Some of his happiest moments were in the summer, spent with family and friends at Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire and on Nantucket in Massachusetts, places that were very dear to his heart.
He was a loving father and proud grandfather, who took great pride in his family. He was also an animal lover who found joy and companionship with his pets, especially his cat Willis.
Donald is survived by his son Andrew Brombacker and his wife Migta, his daughter Elizabeth Delli Gatti and her husband Carmine, his three granddaughters Francesca, Daria, and Eleanor, as well as his sister Carol Smiglin and her husband Peter.
His family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext. on Tuesday, January 20 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, followed by a memorial service at 6:00pm.
