Brenda Joyce Murrell of Binghamton passed away on March 8, 2026 at Susquehanna Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on December, 9, 1942 in New York, NY to the late Lemuel Richard Harrison and Mary Cole Bryant. She was a graduate of John Adams High School in Ozone Park, NY and Hofrstra University in Hempstead, NY. She worked as a social worker for 20 years for the city of New York. She later went on to work for Catholic Charities of Long Island and Safelight Auto-glass. Once fully retired, she enjoyed singing with the choir at Union Presbyterian Church and spending time with the friends she made at the YMCA and Johnson City Senior Center.

She was predeceased by her husband Harold E. Murrell, her brothers, Richard Harrison and Vincent Harrison and her sister, Linda Sutton Baffoe. She is survived by her daughter, Andrea Kelleher and Thomas Kelleher, Johnson City, NY, two grandchildren Noah and Alyssa Kelleher, brothers Robert Harrison and Harry Sutton, sister Wanda Harrison, cousins Bryan Sanders and Keisha Davis, sister-in-law Denise Ebron-Harrison and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

We will cherish the memory of her kind heart and sense of humor, and she will be deeply missed.

Funeral Services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Saturday, December 14, 2026 at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m.
