Kathleen M. Both passed away at Guthrie-Lourdes hospital on 3/6/2026 after a brief illness. She was born the daughter of Lee W. and Julia E. (Pucek) Fish on August 13,1947 in Binghamton, NY. She was a graduate of Arlington High School, LaGrangeville, NY in 1966. On May 29, 1971, she married John Both at St. Stanislaus Church in Pleasant Valley, NY. After moving to Norfolk, VA, John's ship was redeployed to Athens, Greece, where they resided for two years. Kathleen worked for Vassar Brother's Hospital for over 20 years and then moved to Binghamton, NY where she worked at Lourdes Hospital for another 5 years. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and volunteering and she especially enjoyed visits with her grandchildren and going to her knitting groups, where she made items for various organizations. Kathleen is survived by her husband, John Both, and her two children, Stephen Both and Suzanne (Michael) Carmalitano. She had three grandchildren, Troy Both, Jonathan Carmalitano, and Nicholas Carmalitano and several cousins. The family wishes to thank her Care Team at Guthrie-Lourdes ICU and Seton One for their dedication and kindness. A special thank you to Sister Herme for her advocacy and kindness during Kathleen's care. Funeral services will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to the Broome Humane Society, 167 Conklin Ave, Binghamton, NY 13903.
