John was a fellow squad mate during Beast, and he, Bobby O'Brien and I spent a lot of time together during our first year at West Point, traveling up to Saratoga Springs to stay with Bobby's family over a long weekend. John often joked about being from West Point, Mississippi. I remember him as a respectful and fun individual. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
