John Michael Baker, Jr., 53, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2025, at IU Methodist Hospital.
He was born July 19, 1971, in Bellaire, OH to John Michael Baker, Sr. and Shirley (VanNast) Baker.
John loved to play bingo and his favorite pastime was watching wrestling or supporting his Pittsburgh Steelers.
He is survived by his mother, Shirley Baker; his aunt, Sylvia Hood; his cousins, Jennifer Lyn Hood and Aiden Hood; his aunt, Holly Baker; his cousins, Chloe and Bella Potts; his aunt and uncle, Nancy (husband, Mitch) Toto; several nieces and nephews and all his special friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; his sister, Jamie Lyn Baker; his great-grandmother, Melvie Michael; his aunt, Pearl VanNast; his uncle, Freddie VanNast; his grandparents, Joseph (wife, Elda) VanNast, Vernon (wife, Mary Jane Baker) and Sherman (wife, Helen) Schuster.
Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks and Stuart Parks are honored to serve John's family.
Memorial contributions may be given to Special Olympics of Indiana-Shelby Co., 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.
