John Bakowski Obituary
John S. Bakowski
Age 79, peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, March 2, 2025, from the South Hills. Devoted husband of Rita Bakowski for 57 years. Amazing father to Brian (Marie), Mark (Jodi), and Keith (Karen) Bakowski. Pap to Kevin (Mia), Matthew (Taryn), Steven, Jennifer, and Braden. He is survived by his brother, James (Debbie) Bakowski, two nieces and one nephew. John proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Kaskaskia from 1967 to 1969 and then transferred to shore duty in Norfolk from 1969 to 1971. After his Naval Career, he worked as a Sales Engineer for E. L. Wiegand and after 41 years of service, he retired from Chromalox in 2007. He enjoyed every moment with his family. John was an amazing father and proud of his three sons. Becoming a grandfather was the highlight of his life. He never missed a baseball or football game, swim or track meets, marching band and music concert performances or prom and school dance pictures. Kevin, Matthew, Steven, Jennifer, and Braden were his most precious gift from above. His unconditional love for them will live on forever. Visitations Tuesday from 1 PM until his Final Blessing at 7 PM at the Boron Funeral Home, Inc., 1719 Brownsville Road. Interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to help defray expenses.

Seeing John´s picture, he looks so much like his Dad.
John´s dad and my dad were brothers. John´s dad was my godfather.

Having you as a neighbor for the past 20 years has truly been a Blessing. I would come outside and say hello and you always made time to say hello back. Whether we had a serious conversation or I was teasing you about working in my yard, you always made time to speak. You worked hard everyday to keep your yard and your home one that all residents on Pointview would stop and look. Life is going to be quite sad knowing Tim and I won't see you outside reading the paper or taking care of the family. I'm glad your in Heaven with God. You are surely going to be missed.
