John Ball Obituary

John Ball was preceded by his parents, Willis and Inez Ball, sisters, Billie Gowan, Doris McCiuston and Betty Sharp all of Asheville, North Carolina. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Mary Donna Jett Ball of Gettysburg, PA. His children, Michelle Gilliland (Mike) of Piedmont, SC, Norman Varner of Forrest City, AK, Rebecca Reed (Brian) of Canton, NC, and Deidra Baldwin of Campobello, SC. His grandchildren, Lauren (Josh), Eli, Scotty, Will, Abi, Liz, Gus, Elijah Luke, Sean, Lexi, Jenna, and Addy and a great grandchild, Ezekiel. Nieces Diane, Selina, and nephew Dickie.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made via Go Fund Me (link) to help with funeral expenses.
The family will be at Mrs. Ball's home in Gettysburg, PA. Cards may be sent to 1855 Baltimore Pike, Apt B4, Gettysburg, PA, 17325.

John will be sorely missed by his Sheetz family. Large Vanilla shake, extra vanilla flat lid . He always had a smile on his face and a story to share. See you on the other side friend.

I met John at work. He was kind of intimidating at first, but then he opened up to me about the amazing things he had done in life and how much he loved his family and his wife. John always made me glad after I had talked with him. He was very good at conversation. His accent was both comforting and unique. He called me "Ollen" for all his accent because my name is Alen. That will forever stick with me, the memory of him saying my name. One time He and I and another fella were talking politics and religion and I was so glad to know His belief in God. John showed me what it means to have genuine character, salt, grit and honest to goodness love for family. I will miss him so.
