John Barrett Obituary
John H. Barrett, of the Oak Valley section of Deptford, New Jersey, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023. He was 93.
Jack will be fondly remembered as an easy going man who was loved by everyone he met.
He worked as a Job Foreman for Allied Chemical for nearly twenty years before taking a job as a Pari-Mutual Clerk for the Meadowlands and Garden State Race Track for more than 20 years.
Away from work, Jack enjoyed spending time at Long Beach Island body surfing, gambling and cheering on his beloved Phillies through the great and not so great seasons. Jack will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family
Jack is the beloved husband of Charlotte (nee Cahill); loving father of Charlotte Shiflett and her husband Ralph and Jack Barrett and his wife Sue; loving grandfather of Nicole Louise DeSant and her husband John, Todd Michael Shiflett and his wife Jaclyn and John Ryan Barrett; cherished great grandfather of Nicholas DeSant.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jack's viewing on Thurday, may 25, 2023n at 9:00AM in the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury where his Funeral Ceremony will follow at 11 AM. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery, 240 N. Tuckahoe Road, Williamstown, (Monroe Twp.), NJ
