John Ralph Barry, 90, of Gallatin, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 21, 2025. Born August 6, 1935, in Robertson County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late John Melvin Barry and Lottie West Barry.  John led a life marked by dedication, service, and a love for nature.

A proud veteran, John served his country honorably in the United States Navy. This commitment to duty extended into his professional life, where he worked at General Electric, overseeing receiving and shipping operations. Following the acquisition of GE by Bosch, John retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and integrity.

Outside of his professional endeavors, John cherished time spent outdoors. He had a profound appreciation for nature, often engaging in gardening, bird watching, and fishing—all activities that brought him joy and peace. His connection to the earth reflected his caring nature and desire to enjoy life’s simple pleasures.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Margaret Louise Barry, Ruby Mae Barry Smiley, Martha Rhea Barry Hobdy, Anna Laura Barry Goetz, Nell Barry Henry, Jean Barry Johnson, James Phillip Barry, and Ronald Wayne Barry.

John is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Marilyn Barry, and their son, Glenn Barry.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate John’s life during the following services: A visitation will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, both taking place at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Gallatin, Tennessee. John will be laid to rest in a burial service with military graveside honors at Sumner Memorial Gardens.

John will be remembered fondly for his dedication to family, service to his country, and his zest for life. His contributions to the lives of those who knew him will be cherished and celebrated for years to come.
