Arnold Daymon Simon lll, “Arnie”, age 70, of Portland, TN, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
Arnie was born in Wagoner, Oklahoma, on November 10, 1955. As a young boy, Arnie’s family moved to Florida, where he spent most of his adult life as a resident of that state. Upon retirement, Arnie made Tennessee his home.
Karate was Arnie’s passion. He spent over 40 years studying, training, and teaching Martial Arts with concentration in Karenzukai Karate. Arnie was very proud to have earned the rank of 6th degree black belt.
Arnie was a graduate of Brevard Community College, in Cocoa, Fl, earning an Associate’s Degree in General Studies.
Arnie lived life on his own terms. He was one-of-a-kind and shall never be forgotten. He fiercely loved and was devoted to those closest to him. He has left an indelible impression upon the hearts of his family, friends, and students. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Arnie is survived by extended family and several friends who became like family; with special mention to his Merritt Island High School friends, and most especially David.
He was preceded in death by his father, A. Daymon Simon Jr.; mother, Martha (Claggett) Simon; and brother, Mark Daniel Simon.
In honor of Arnie’s final wishes, there will be no funeral services. Burial will take place in Lawson Cemetery (located: 3003 N Lawson Rd., Yale OK, 74085).
