John Barthol Obituary

John W. Barthol, age 78, of Little Rock, died Tuesday, January 25, 2005. He was born April 18, 1926 in Memphis, TN. A member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and Our Lady of the Holy Souls, he was in the Army Air Corps, a Veteran of WWII and especially enjoyed his tour of duty in Germany. He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved to fix things, take pictures, work jig saw puzzles, listening to Neil Diamond, working in the yard and his workshops.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John C. and Mary Barthol. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Rita Barthol; children, Judy Bowers and her husband Jeff, Suzy Barthol, Betsy Barthol, John Michael Barthol and his wife Cindy, James “Eddie” Barthol and Joseph Barthol; one brother, Walter Barthol, all of Little Rock; one sister, Irene Lenz of Milwaukee, WI; three grandsons, Nicholas and Adam Barthol and Jeffery Bowers; three granddaughters, Caitlyn Barthol, Rebekah Bowers and Lorin Barthol, all of Little Rock.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 28, 2005 at Our Lady of Holy Souls Catholic Church with Father Bill Elser and Msgr. Thomas Sebaugh as Celebrants. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. this evening (Thursday) in the Chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 West 12th Street, Little Rock, 501.661.9111. I'm so sorry for your loss. I know it hurts. You both have raised incredible children that are so proud to have ya'll both as parents. Betsy is my best friend and I'm so glad you both raised such an incredible daughter and were able to bless me with her in my life. I'm here if any of ya'll need me or my husband - we love you! You are such an incredible family! Hang in there!
