John Carney Bartlett

John Carney Bartlett, 70, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on January 20th, 2026.
John was born on August 18, 1955, to Carl Thompson Bartlett Jr. and Janet Bartlett (maiden name Alfont, later remarried as McCutcheon) in Muncie, Indiana.
After briefly working for his father's auctioneering business, John took over a property management business his father had acquired. His career from then until he retired was in property management. He married LuAnn Turner in 1983 and had three children, Tyler (42), Jacob (39), and Jared (38). They separated in 1999. In 2011, John married Yu Sun (Jade).
Along with the aforementioned family members, John leaves behind Jennifer (granddaughter), Ramona (granddaughter), Josiah (grandson), Edwin (grandson), Li Zheng (step-son), Zhou Yibing (step-daughter-in-law), Li Huanyu (step-grandson), Erika (daughter-in-law), Elizabeth (daughter-in-law), Matt (brother), Carl (brother), Joe (brother), Pam (sister), Beth (sister), Christy (niece), Gary (nephew), and Gaynell (step-mother).
John was always game for a new adventure. Whether he was trying a new restaurant, attending a sporting event or festival, or traveling, John enjoyed doing interesting things with the people he loved. He also knew how to slow down and relax with the best of them by watching an eclectic mix of favorite sports teams on television (New York Yankees, Cleveland Browns, and New York Rangers), having a cookout with his wife, sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren, listening to music, or, as John Lennon said in his favorite song, just sitting here watching the wheels go 'round and 'round.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to Alcoholics Anonymous, who helped John get and stay sober for 40 years. Notes may be sent to Meeks Mortuary in Muncie, Indiana.
A Memorial Service will begin at 6:00 pm, Thursday, January 29, 2026, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.
Calling hours will be at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, on Thursday, January 29th from 4:00 p.m. until service time at 6:00 p.m.
