John Belshe Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bailey-Howard Funeral Home of Clyde on Nov. 29, 2023.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved American Army veteran, John Robert Belshe, III, who devoted 20 years of his life in service of our nation. He departed this world on November 29, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of honor, bravery, and unwavering commitment to duty.
Born on May 19th, 1960, John Robert was not only a dedicated soldier, but also a loving husband to his devoted wife, Kay Belshe, and a cherished father to his three children, John, McKenzie and Garrett. Together they formed a resilient and supportive family unit that stood by John throughout his military career.
Throughout his two decades of service, John Robert demonstrated exceptional courage and earned numerous accolades, including the prestigious Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal and National Defense Service Medal. His commitment to duty, integrity and leadership set an inspiring example for his fellow soldiers and the generations that followed.
Beyond the military, John found solace and joy in the art of woodworking, creating pieces that reflected his precision and craftmanship. His passion for stories was evident in his love for reading, an activity that allowed him to explore worlds beyond the confines of duty.
As we bid farewell to John Robert Belshe, III, we remember not only a decorated soldier but a devoted family man and a talented artisan. His memory will live on through stories of his bravery, the warmth of his family, and the tangible creations that bear the mark of his hands.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ruby Kay Belshe of Clyde; three children, John Robert Belshe IV of Duncan, Oklahoma, McKenzie Belshe-Laws and husband Colton Laws of Lubbock and Garrett Ray Belshe of Clyde; nephew, Justin Key of Clyde; three sisters, Jamie White of Abilene, Dianna Martinez of Abilene and Becky Brown of Sunnyvale; one brother, Todd Belshe and wife Michelle of Sunnyvale; two granddaughters; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Robert Belshe, Jr. and Martha (Workman) Belshe and his sister, Carrie Belshe.
Services to honor John Robert Belshe, III will be held on Saturday, December 9th at 1:00 p.m. at Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel in Clyde. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, https://t2t.org/donate/, reflecting John's spirit of generosity and service to others.
May John rest in eternal peace, and may his family find comfort in the memories of a life well-lived and a legacy that will endure through the ages.
