John "Jack" Benotch, 81, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025. Jack was born on March 17, 1944 to John and Dorothy (Martzahl) Benotch. On June 27, 1980 he was united in marriage to Jacquelyn Locy.
Jack showed his love in his own ways, but anyone that knew Jack, knew that he would do anything for his family and friends. Jack was looking forward to celebrating his and Jackie's 45th wedding anniversary at the end of June.
Jack's granddaughters, Lillian and Annabel, were the apple of his eye. When they were younger, he enjoyed pulling them in the wagon for walks, playing at the park, going grocery shopping, and gardening with them. As they got older, he never wanted to miss a celebration or sporting event that involved his granddaughters.
Jack drove truck for over 30 years of his life. Most of his career was with Kimberly Clark, ISC. Many lifelong friendships were developed along the way, and he may be known to many truckers as "The Handyman."
Jack truly was a "Jack of all trades." He enjoyed tinkering with anything from a small appliance to replacing water heaters, which was his specialty. Over the years, he built countless pieces of custom wooden furniture for his wife, children and granddaughters. Two of Jack's most special talents were spending three hours to save an hour on a project and modifying absolutely everything to make it "better."
Jack had a passion for completing Lego sets and creating custom Lego masterpieces. He made several lego vehicles, which he loved to share with anyone that would listen. After retirement, Jack also enjoyed doing word search puzzles, as long as they were large print, and completing puzzles, as long as they were not more than 300 pieces.
Jack is survived by his wife Jackie, four children; Jessica Benotch, Jodi (Brian) Strube, Lee F. Meyer Jr. and Michelle (significant other Pat Bergner) Loy, two granddaughters Lillian and Annabel, sister-in-law Mary Benotch, godchildren Mark Benotch, Donna Pocket, Teasha Kaepernick, Parker Campbell, other relatives and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Pat Sanchez, Janet (Ken) Bodway, Don (Gwen) Benotch and Jim Benotch.
The funeral service for Jack will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St., Appleton. A time of visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
