John Lincoln Benton, Jr., 81, of West Monroe, LA died March 17, 2024, at his residence.
John was born on January 22, 1943, in St. Jospeh, Louisiana. John served in the United States Marine Corps., then as a deputy for Tensas Parish Sheriff’s Office. He retired as Captain from the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Offices after 24 years, after which he completed his desire to become a pilot and a flight instructor. John was a major supporter of Chenault Aviation and Military Museum, Pilots for Patients, and Med Camps.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Lincoln Benton, and Ava Dean Cowan Benton.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Sharon Jones Benton; brother, Michael Benton, and wife, Tammy; nephew, Michael Benton, Jr. and wife, Cathy and their daughter, Kaitlyn.
His final wishes were to be cremated.
