We are saddened to announce the passing of John Stephen Beres Jr., a father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather who spent most of his life in Delta, the place he always called home. He passed away surrounded by family on November 12, 2025, at Delta Memorial Hospital. He was 66 years old.
Born in Craig, Colorado, on January 9, 1959, John was the son of Nelda and John Beres.
John and Lina Martinez were married on January 29, 1979, and though they later divorced in 1984, they shared meaningful years together and welcomed their daughter, Cynthia Lopez.
John is survived by daughter Cynthia (Fran) Lopez; grandsons Devan Duran-Beres and Cameron Lopez; his great-granddaughter Everly Rae Duran, who brought him endless pride. John is also survived by his only remaining sibling, sister, Jeanetta Ray; his uncle Harry (Shirley) Beres; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his younger brother Gary Beres, as well as his mother and father.
John will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A service will be held in his honor at a later date. Friends and family will be notified when arrangements are made.
