John Berry

John H. Berry age 99, passed away on April 7, 2023 while residing at Canton Regency Assisted Living facility. John was born on April 25, 1923, in Cadiz Ohio, graduating from Cadiz High School in 1941.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John K. Berry and Nancy (Mattern) Berry, his wife of 62 years Marian (Gamroth) Berry, sisters Viola Dunlap, Geneva Spaar, Sarah Lucille Berry and his brother Robert E. Lee.
He is survived by his son and family, Kenneth K. and Linda Berry of Cincinnati Ohio, his brother Neil H. Berry of Greenville Michigan and his sister Lozetta Armstrong of Dover Ohio. John will be lovingly be remembered by his two grandchildren, Stephanie Berry along with her daughters Sophia and Savannah Manheimer of Cincinnati Ohio and Steven and Heather Berry of Chicago Illinois. John is also be survived by numerous nieces and nephews from Ohio, Wisconsin, Georgia and Arizona.
John was a World War II veteran having served in the Pacific aboard a troop transport ship, William P. Biddle. He was a member of the American Legion East Canton Post 662 for over 57 years. He was a life member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, three-time governor of Moose Lodge 521 in Spring Hill Florida. John had a passion for the outdoors being an avid game hunter for over 70 years. He also participated in numerous trap shooting events in Ohio, Florida and West Virginia. He was a Life Member of the Mapleton Ohio Gun Club. John retired after 32 years at the Ashland Oil Canton Refinery and relocated with his wife Marian, to Spring Hill Florida. After Marian's death in 2008, John moved back to Canton in 2010 to be with family and friends.
