John Paul Bielecki, 61, of Plains Twp. passed away Monday January 12th, 2026, at Hampton House, Hanover Township. He was born in Wilkes-Barre, the son of John Harry Bielecki and the late Mooneen Phyllis Levan Bielecki. John Paul attended Edwin Mackin Elementary and Wilkes-Barre Vo Tech schools and worked at United Rehabilitation Services in Wilkes-Barre. He served on the Luzerne-Wyoming County MH/DS Quality Council and was also a long-time member of Our Lady of Hope Parish in Wilkes-Barre.
John Paul was a loving, kind and sweet man who touched the lives of his family and friends. He loved to go bowling, dancing, spending time outdoors at parks with his friends, and animals of all kinds. John Paul participated in Special Olympics competitions, loved riding horses, music, had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a good laugh. John Paul never missed a mass at Our Lady of Hope.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hampton House for the loving care they gave John Paul the last years of his life.
John Paul is survived by his father, John Bielecki, Plains Twp, sister Tiona Beckley and her husband Jon, Clark Summit, aunt and godmother Helen Mary Levan, Dallas, niece Sarah Beckley, Waverly, and nephew Jon Beckley Jr and his wife Courtney, Clark Summit.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday am January 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. from Our Lady of Hope Parish 40 Park Ave. Wilkes-Barre. Family and friends are asked to go directly to church. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, Wilkes-Barre.

One of my first jobs was at Wyoming Valley Children's Association. My duties included a learn-to-swim program held at the W-B YMCA. John Paul came to every session I conducted. I had the honor of knowing him then, and I've frequently thought about him and wondered how he was doing. The real God-wink here is this - I'm now a Catholic Deacon and assigned to Our Lady of Hope. I will be the deacon of the mass at John Paul's funeral. May he rest in peace. Deacon Bill Behm
