John Charles Biesemeier, age 85, died at his home in Franklin, TN on Oct 11, 2023 after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his loving wife and members of his family. John was born on December 20, 1937 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was the son of Clark and Margaret Biesemeier. John graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering. He graduated from Brite Divinity School with a Master's in Divinity degree. John served churches in several states in long-term pastorates, then received specialized training as an Intentional Interim minister and served interims in churches in several states, including Louisiana, Missouri, Kansas, and Tennessee. John married Christina (Chris) Biesemeier on February 10, 1990, and they shared more than 33 years together. John was a self-taught pastel artist and found great joy in making and donating portraits of deceased infants and children to their parents, working through the Ronald McDonald House in Kansas City, Missouri. John loved to travel and enjoyed many trips around the U.S. and the world with Chris. In addition to Chris, John is survived by his daughters Beth (Ray) Cody and Karen (Brian) Sullivan, his grandson Zach Sullivan, his sister Sharon (Chris) Heuer, his step-daughters, Emily (Andrew) Pfeffer and Laura Welton, his step-son Steven (Lacey) Welton, and six step-grandchildren, Noah, Charlie, Emma, and Izzy Pfeffer and Emerson and Wyatt Welton. A celebration of life will be held on November 19 at 2 PM in the Carpenter Chapel of Woodmont Christian Church in Nashville, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN.
