John Garland Bivens, 79, of Fort Valley, GA, formally of Augusta, GA, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Emory Hospital in Warner Robins.
John was born in Augusta, GA and spent most of his youth in Richmond and Columbia Counties. He graduated from Hepzibah High School, August College, and Kennessaw State University. John was married to the former Patricia Alligood in 1979, which made their lives complete.
He was a CFP and CPA and spent many years working in the Atlanta area. In 2007, John and Tricia moved to Warner Robins for a quieter life. When Tricia retired, their last move was to Peach County, with their two puppies, Rusty and Molly. They loved the quiet, peaceful life in the ”country” and enjoyed working in their flower gardens and were entertained by the abundant wild life.
John was preceded in death by his father, John C. Bivens; mother, Pearl Lois Martin; brother, Wayne Bivens; and sister, Joanne Bivens Gray.
John is survived by his wife, Patricia; sisters, Jeanette Bivens Woodward and Patricia Bivens Fulmer; several nieces and nephews; and puppies, Rusty and Molly.
