Mr. John Robert Blankenship, 84, passed away on January 1, 2026, at his home in West Point. John was born on January 15, 1941, in Clay County, to the late Albert and Marie Sanders Blankenship. John worked as a fabricator and mechanic for Seitz Lumber Company. He enjoyed his work and was often referred to as a "workaholic". He enjoyed tinkering with lawnmowers, woodworking, and vegetable gardening. He married Virginia Wooley Blankenship on December 3, 1976, in West Point. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Sissy Blankenship Parker, Mamie Blankenship Vest, Joyce Blankenship Simpson, and Margie Blankenship Williams, and two brothers, Sonny and Dick Blankenship.

Visitation will be on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. at Enon Baptist Church in Cedar Bluff. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend R.C. Bryan officiating and assisted by Reverend Jack Dauphin. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia W. Blankenship of West Point: two daughters, JoJo Blankenship Pilcher (Keith) and Johnnie Blankenship Campbell (Bobby), both of Fort Smith, Arkansas: two sons, Lyle W. Terry (Sue Lynn) and Shea Terry (Lawanna), both of West Point: fifteen grandchildren: nineteen great-grandchildren: two sisters, Beverly White (Billy) and Lois Higginbotham (Kenneth), both of West Point: three sisters-in-law, Ava Glass of Morton, Ann Hughes of Brandon, and Virginia Vest of West Point : two brothers-in-law, Malcolm Wooley of Morton and Neal Williams of Cedar Bluff, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Doctors, Nurses, and Staff of Enhabit Hospice and Dr. Garth Horn.

Memorials may be made to Enon Baptist Church, c/o Margie Cartee; 17708 Highway 50 West, Cedar Bluff, Mississippi 39741.
